November 6, 2025According to the information portal of the Ministry of Oil, Mohsen Khojastehmehr stated on Wednesday (December 13) during a meeting held at Sharif University of Technology on the occasion of Research and Technology Week that this university is among the country’s leading institutions in the field of technology. He emphasized that ongoing projects involving technological cooperation between the oil industry and universities must be continuously pursued until tangible results are achieved. He added that the oil and gas economy must become knowledge-based, and along this path, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has expanded its scientific and technological collaborations with universities and research centers. The Managing Director of NIOC, stressing the need to move toward the expansion of technological pilot projects, stated that in the past, the relationship between universities and industry was weak, and various structural measures must be taken so that the academic community gains a deeper understanding of the complexities of oil industry operations. Khojastehmehr further noted that initiatives such as “Progress Narrators Camps” and the organization of various meetings and programs across the oil industry, with the participation of professors and students, can help improve awareness of the capabilities and operational complexities of the oil sector.
